Overlooking the Vésubie River, "Astride its rock, It's pretty Lantosque, Who raises her proud bell tower": this first verse of "Lantosquoise" perfectly describes the picturesque setting of this mountain village perched on a rocky ledge in the middle of the Vésubie Valley. Not far from the village are the hamlets of Loda, St. Colomban, and especially Pelasque, from where you can enjoy superb panoramic views of the Vésubie Gorges.

The via ferrata offers two routes: a main route and a children's via ferrata.

During the route, you will cross the Vésubie River on a natural bridge made of a huge block of sandstone trapped in the rock faces and probably transported there during the last ice ages. Numerous reminders of the past are visible, such as the splendid arched bridge of an old canal that once stretched from one bank to the other in a daring structure. Omnipresent, lush vegetation, combined with the humidity and darkness, where ferns abound, sometimes gives the impression of navigating a tropical atmosphere.

Climb into the Riou Canyon on the Lantosque via ferrata, "without a doubt the most beautiful in the region" (ViaFerrata-FR.net).

An access fee is required. Tickets are available on site. It is also possible to rent equipment if you don't have one.

Required personal technical equipment: Helmet (approved for climbing), harness, lanyards with energy absorbers approved for via ferrata.

Recommended equipment: resting line and gloves.

Please wear sportswear appropriate for the activity and the weather, as well as closed-toe shoes (hiking shoes recommended).

The Lantosque via ferrata is a self-guided (unsupervised) route, therefore at your own risk.
